A US-based nurse returns home to serve her community
ICDeC, in partnership with UNIG Foundation, carried out a two-day Medical and Dental Mission on January 7-8, 2026 at the Covered Court of Barangay Ilog, Infanta Quezon, serving nearly 500 patients from the community.
The mission was led by the UNIG Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Ms. Ruth Azcarraga Gurango, a proud Infantahin now based in the United States. A team of volunteer medical professionals consisting of two surgeons, three dentists, four licensed chiropractors, one medical doctor, and four nurses provided services throughout the two-day event.
Patients received an extensive range of free services including tooth extraction with free dental hygiene kits, minor surgery, bone alignment, blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, medical consultations, and free medicines.
The two-day mission is one of several community outreach programs that ICDeC continues to pursue in support of the overall well-being not only of the members but also of the residents of the communities it serves.
